3. SSRIs Are Known To Help Control Premature Ejaculation But How Effective Are They?
What does SSRI stand for?
Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor.
In the human brain SSRIs slow down serotonin returning to the neurons from which they came so serotonin stays in the vicinity of the neuron receptors for longer. Therefore the body can make best use of reduced amounts of serotonin.
People with reduced amounts of serotonin usually suffer from depression, anxiety, and other phobia disorders.
You have probably heard of the most common SSRI drugs designed to help with depression. These include Prozac, Luvox, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Serzone, Anafranil, etc…
How effective are they at curing p.e?
Dapoxotine is the only one of these drugs sold solely as a premature ejaculation cure.
In a clinical trial of the SSRI Dapoxetines noticeable effects were found in the length of time some men could last but unfortunately positive results were only found in 39% of men tested. 50% of the men tested were given a placebo pill and this also noticeably increased lasting times by 25% giving credible support to the theory that it’s all in the mind.
Immediate side effects noted in the test…
• Nausea recorded in up to 20% of men
• Headaches in up to 6.8% of men
• Diarrhoea in 6.8% of men tested.
• Dizziness in 6.2% of men tested
Extreme side effect made 10% of men stop treatment
Gregg is a healthcare worker and a customer of mine who is soon to open his own health clinic in California. He tried SSRIs as a remedy for premature ejaculation and emailed me the following…
“No one tells you that the more serotonin you have in your system, the more satiated you feel, and the less desire you have.”
Needless to say he stopped taking them.
SSRIs effect emotions, reactions; feelings can also be numbed, taking maybe a year for these side effects to disappear after ceasing the drugs.
The Bad News
Why this method should only be used as a last resort?
SSRIs clobber the sex drive in up to 60% of those who take them. Think of the dire consequences and pressure this would place on your love life and relationship.
I personally believe that given the evidence for SSRIs effectiveness as a premature ejaculation cure that they are not worth wasting your time with. As you can see from the test results 25% of those that took the placebo noticed great results. Concluding the placebo is over half (64%) as effective as these drugs which are laden with a known mass of side effects and the uncertainty of future long term side effects, considerable financial cost and are no where near as effective as learning control.
I would describe them as a quick fix which has a 61% chance of failure. Even less if you take of the placebo effect percentage of 25% taking the drugs chance of failure up to 86%.
Why were SSRIs documented as helping with premature ejaculation?
I believe this may be due to the documented effect of SSRIs dramatically lowering sex drive to the point of removing it all together removing anxiety from the equation which is a huge cause of p.e. and also due to the de-stressing properties of SSRIs as an anti-depressant.
This is why Instead of recommending SSRIs I would recommend taking the following course of action.
Since the placebo had 64% as high a result as the drug concluded there is evidence to corroborate my theory that the mind plays an important part in controlling premature ejaculation.
I have noted the mind can easily be conditioned. I say conditioned but it’s actually more like learning a technique, knowing how to use the mind to control ejaculation. I initially researched ancient meditation techniques that are easily learned to control and prevent arousal rapidly rising throughout intercourse.
These cures incorporate all the benefits of meditation. Predominantly allowing you to remain in control and stay calm during intercourse and once learned only need to be used during sex. There is no need for constant practice on a daily basis.
I adapted and grew my own techniques to further improve their effectiveness. Now I have a powerful formula for arousal control that never requires the intake of intoxicating drugs. If you would like to know more about this method click here.
Unlike SSRIs my meditation techniques will not reduce your sex drive but instead ensures you can control it. If anything they can heighten the sexual experience. As this method of control was devised from a meditation technique it also offers stress relieving properties which removes the only valuable benefit of taking SSRIs as a premature ejaculation cure. But then again SSRIs reduce your sex drive so I wouldn’t even consider them.
Besides there are many other ways of reducing stress.
I have always found it hard to believe that since SSRIs reduce sex drive to such an extent that they have become associated with helping to cure premature ejaculation.
SSRIs can never teach you how to naturally last longer. They will never show you how to experience more powerful orgasms or how to please your partner in bed which is all included within my e-book.
